Our second game was against Peterborough. Kings Lynn took an early lead through Ethan, followed up by a goal from Ryan and we were 2 - 0 up by half time. In the second half Kings Lynn's defence stayed solid and they added another 4 goals (Ryan 3, Ethan 1) to win the game 6 - 0.

Our third and final game of the day was against second placed Grimsby. Once again Kings Lynn started really well taking a 1- 0 lead with a goal from Fin, however, Grimsby fought back and were 2 - 1 up at half time. In the second half Grimsby upped their game, scoring another 5 goals, Ethan and Fin scored 1 goal each, making the final score 7 - 3 to Grimsby.

Overall a very good day considering that we played the top two teams in the league. As always our youngsters gave 100% and fought very hard throughout every game.

The player of the day was Joshua Roberts who was outstanding!

The next game was against Ely. Lynn again started strong with goals from Smokey Robinson, Josh and Alex. With just a few minutes to go in the first half and Lynn 3-2 up, Smokey Robinson (Captain) was struck in the head by an off target shot. Smokey was taken off for treatment and did not return to that game or the last one. The game carried on with Andy Horn, vice Captain, taking over. But again in the second half the lead slipped away final score 6-9 to Ely.

Final game was against the home team, Letchworth. Starting off weakly, Lynn conceded two early goals. Finally finding the back of the net with a long distance slap shot from Alex, Lynn pushed and pushed forcing errors and the goals soon came from Rees, Josh and Andy. Both keepers Josh Bates in first half and Kasia Parfitt in The second half helped the Lynn team dominate and extend their lead with the final score at 8 - 5.

All three team were above Lynn in the league table, so with a win over Letchworth King's Lynn moved up into third place.

This was a very frustrating game for Lynn as they struggled to score past the inexperienced goalkeeper who seemed to be stopping everything. Ryan Barnes finally made the breakthrough a few minutes before half time to end the half 1-0 to King's Lynn. The second half was controlled by King's Lynn, reducing the amount of Letchworth possession and restricting them to only counter attacks, all but one Lynn managed to foil. Some cool and calm passing at the very end of the half from Andrew Barnes allowed Lynn to take the 3-1 victory at the end of game. Lynn topped Pool B setting up a semi-final clash between the second place team of Pool A, Peterborough.

The semi-final saw Lynn take on old rivals Peterborough, who knocked Lynn out of the cup last season, revenge was to be had. The game started off very close with both teams exchanging spells of possession. Some solid goalkeeping from Will Martin in the Lynn net ensured the scores remained level. Lynn were able to soak up the pressure from the Peterborough attacks and countered with Jon & Josh Taylor combining with some slick passing moves to see Jon score 4 times in 10 minutes. As soon as Lynn had goals on the board they began to control the game. Some skillful moves from Jack Tucker added another goal and Lynn began to run away with the game. Josh added another 4 goals before combining with his brother again taking a quick free hit which Jon lifted over the goalkeeper to complete his 6 goal game. The final score ended 11-2 to King's Lynn. Lynn will face Cottenham in the final on EC Cup Finals day on the 15th July.

The match continued in the same vein with good team play and four more goals giving the team a 7-1 victory.

Last up were the hosts Cottenham and Lynn B were off to a bad start, conceeding a goal in the first minute. not helped by some poor defending Lynn went into the break 3-0 down. Starting more purposefully in the second half they managed to apply some pressure, but the finishing was not there and the chances went begging. Cottenham on the other hand took their chances and ran out as 8-1 winners with the last goal again being very questionable as their player was standing in the 'D'.

Lynn B certainly played well again as a team and all players again gave good performances all round.

Next up were Bury, the league leaders, and we knew this was also going to be a tough game.
Again, Lynn B defended well and man marked well. Bury again being held at bay for 5 minutes before they managed to score. Bury found it hard gong against our well organised defence and at half time, Lynn B were only 3-1 down against the league leaders. The second half saw much of the same play with Lynn B defending well but ultimately going down to a 7-2 defeat.

The last game of the day was against Invicta. Although Lynn B had played well in the previous matches, this proved to be their match of the day. A well organised defensive display saw them limit Invicta to a solitary goal in the first half, which was cancelled out by a great goal from Tom Barry. The goal was obviously appreciated by Invicta when one of their players came and congratulated Tom.

The second half Invicta then took a 4-1 lead. This is when Lynn B finally woke up and started to fightback. With Megan Norris in goal providing some outstanding saves to keep Lynn B in the game, they scored 2 goals which saw them take the initiative and the momentum was with them. The final turning point came in the game when Rees in a goal scoring position, was “impeded” and went off injured. With no foul given Invicta took the ball and scored from the opportunity. Lynn B had lost their momentum and the game finished at 5-3

The whole team fought really hard and put in immense performances throughout the day.
Who knows what could have happened against Bury or Invicta if even just a couple of the many chances we created had gone in?

Although it would be hard to pick out any one performance from a team that all gave 100%, I would like to give a special mention to Megan, who I think had an outstanding day in goal and certainly kept us in the games giving us the chance to maybe pick up a result.

The third game became one of exciting end-to-end hockey as the Bury team were obviously intent on giving the A team a challenge. It has to be said that the brilliant goal-keeping in the first-half by Kasia, kept them in the game and gave them the determination to forge ahead to a comfortable win.

The last game against Herne Bay was a new experience as Lynn A had never met them before. Again, Herne Bay came out fighting full on and skating fast. Lynn A were momentarily caught out and found themselves behind for a change. In this game Will had to pull-out some fine saves to keep Lynn A afloat. Once again Lynn A stepped up to the challenge and finished the day un-beaten.
