u13’s Match Report: 1st November 2014
The under 13’s (Minors) team started their season with three wins from three games at Sudbury.
They played the home team in their first game of the day and got off to a good start, taking control of the game early on with Ryan scoring two goals and we went into the interval 2 – 1 up. In the 2nd half our defence was very solid and the whole team worked hard, with Fin and Ethan adding a goal apiece, Lynn took the game 4 – 1 against Sudbury.
In the second game we played a very young Ely team and the whole team played with confidence and every player got on the score sheet, with seven goals scored in each half we took the points with a 14 – 0 victory.
Last up were Cottenham, who had brought in a couple of new players this season. However our youngsters were very solid in all areas and played with much determination. Ryan and Ethan took control up front scoring seven goals between them. Jason and Arthur were excellent at the back and as always Josh done a great job in goal. Final score was 7 – 3.
We can now look forward to our home tournament on 30th November and if we can come away with maximum points again, it will put us in a great position.
