The King’s Lynn Minors (U13’s) Team jumped from 5th to 3rd place in the league after the last tournament of the season, which was held at Lynnsport on Saturday 10th May.
In our first game we faced Kent RH Academy. This proved to be a tough start to the day and the team suffered a 5 – 1 loss, with our only goal of the game coming from Ryan.
Next up were Sudbury, who we were battling against for third spot. Lynn came out on top in this encounter with a very good team performance and a final score of 4 – 2.
Our third game was against Rickmansworth and after our first two matches, proved to be more comfortable. Ria (3), Ryan (2), Fin (2) and Ethan (1) all got on the score sheet and the match ended 8 – 3 in our favour.
The last game of the day was against the unbeaten leaders of the league, Peterborough. Lynn were holding their own and looked good at the start, almost taking the lead. But Peterborough are a strong team and eventually broke us down, scoring two quick goals just before half time. In the second half our youngsters struggled to cope with the Peterborough team as they added more goals. The final score was 8 – 1 to the league winners.
On the day the whole team worked hard as always and considering the quality of the teams in the league this year, they should be pleased with 3rd place!
Well done to you all!
