Schoolboys A Team Complete An Unbeaten Season
The last games of the season for the King’s Lynn Roller Hockey Club’s Schoolboys A Team was the most exciting one yet.
They played against Peterborough to win the season Cup.
From the off Peterborough came out strongly wanting to gain the upper hand as they were the home team. Peterborough’s pressure paid off and they gained a comfortable lead. Half-time saw team coach Chris Kay give an encouraging but firm team-talk and Kings Lynn returned to the game with a renewed desire to finish the season un-beaten. Slowly they pulled back and in the dying moments of the game scored to bring the game to a draw. This being a Cup game a definite win was required therefore both teams were now playing extra-time. The first half of five minutes was un-eventful and so another stern team- talk led them into the second-half. Finally King’s Lynn seized their chance when Peterborough started to slacken from their intense pressure and scored to win the match.
This has been a successful season for the Kings Lynn Schoolboys A Team winning both the Eastern Counties Cup Final and the Eastern Counties League.
The Team:
Will Martin (GK), Kasia Parfitt (GK), Andy Barnes, Ryan Barnes, Olly Cox, Josh Gay, Josh Taylor (Capt.), Adam Tucker & Jack Tucker
Team Coach: Chris Kay
Team Manager: Jerry Barnes

Sam Kay Helps Middlesbrough To Premiership Title
Congratulations to Lynn Player Sam Kay, who as part of the Middlesbrough Premiership Team, helped secure Boro’s first ever Premiership title since 1947, the induction year of the club.
In front of a crowd of 400-500 spectators at the Pier in Herne Bay with 13 minutes left to go, Boro were trailing in the game 3 – 1 so changed their tactics to full rink pressed & managed to pull level at 3 – 3. This would have been enough for Boro to win the Premiership, but with seconds left on the clock they were awarded & scored a direct free hit to go on to win 4 – 3.
Sam also helped King’s Lynn to 2nd place in the Eastern Counties League Division 1.
