Sofia Taylor: Donation Update
KLRHC has today donated £100 to the fund for James Taylor’s little girl
James Taylor is the father of 18 month Sofia, he has played Roller Hockey professionally and currently plays with Letchworth Roller Hockey, his father is Steve Taylor who owns Slapshot
Our daughter Sofia is 18 months old, she has the most beautiful expressive eyes, you always know what she’s feeling from just one look. She has recently been diagnosed with a genetic disorder called Rett syndrome. Rett syndrome affects approximately 1 in 10,000 females, (it is rarely seen in males) , it is a movement disorder which is best described as cruel, it stops you from doing what you want to do, when you want to do it. If you were to describe it in one word it would be trapped! Your body just won’t obey what your brain commands.Sofia will need a lot of help and equipment that will enable her to have an easier life, our first purchase will be an eye gaze eye tracker which starts from £1000 then moving on to a tobii I-series which is £11,000 this is something that will help our silent angel communicate. People may think my god that’s a lot of money and yes they would be right but if it means we only get a glimpse into what she’s thinking it will be money well spent.
We are taking it all one day at a time, Sofia is our silent angel!
Thank you for taking your time to read, kind regards from Sofia’s Mum and Dad
