Premier League Match Report: 11th October 2014
Kings Lynn 7 – 4 Letchworth
King’s Lynn Roller Hockey premier league team had their first home match at Lynnsport against Letchworth at the weekend.
Wearing their new home kit supplied by Samueljacks, Lynn started brightly keeping good possession passing the ball with fluency between all players, however few offensive chances were created. Lynn’s first substitutions made an instant impact, where chance after chance was created which soon followed by an opening goal for the home side. Lynn’s second goal came soon after; a smart piece of individual skill slotted home by Sam Kay.
The team were hungry for more goals, which were inevitably added by Carter and an in-form Taylor. Perhaps the move of the game occurred in the first half consisting of a fantastic set play initiated. and eventually finished by Jack Tucker.
Lynn carried their momentum into the second half, with all players looking to create and extend the home sides lead. Letchworth defended strongly, with their keeper pulling off some smart saves to stop Lynn increasing the score. This consequently knocked Lynn’s confidence which led to Letchworth having a good spell of possession enjoying success in front of goal. Both teams exchanged a further goal before the final whistle, Lynn taking victory with a convincing 7 – 4 score line.
King’s Lynn have now taken maximum points from their opening two Premier League games and are confident they can make it three wins out of three later on in the month against RHC Invicta.
