After three defeats in their first three games in the Under 15’s home tournament, the youngsters finally got their act together in the final game of the day against Soham. They raced into an early lead with four almost identical goals from Myah, going past the defenders down the right side, slotting the ball home on each occasion. With Ria and Alfie added to these goals, netting a goal each before Soham then replied with two goals of their own to make it 6 – 2 at half time.
After the break, Ria slotted home another quick goal, to make it 7 – 2. Thinking the job was done, Lynn became complacent and allowed Soham back into the game, conceding five goals and bringing the match level. After a few harsh words from Coach (Smokey) and a tactical substitution Alfie Poppy scored a great solo goal with only a minute left on the clock.
Lynn then held on, thanks to some great saves from Harriet in goal, to clinch a thrilling 8 – 7 victory.
